Keeping busy
My favourite brother from Canada (F.Y.I I have only one brother) gave us a box of Hartiatoys Polar Animals . It's meant for kids from 6 to 12, but we can't possibly wait for baby to be 6 to start enjoying it, can we :)! So the dear husband and I started folding, cutting n sticking' last night. We had great fun! It was very relaxing. We gonna put it up in a mobile for our little one. While cutting the animals, I was just thinking Damn! you must be a really skillful 6 years old to be able to do all this cutting and folding but it's a great learning toy!
Another project I did, which am not sure if I will have it framed. This lovely lady offers a free template every Tuesday from her blog Scherenschnitte , which means paper cutting. I did this one because it represented mother and child - and also because it was one of the easiest lol!
On another note, it is now Ramadan in Bahrain. For those of Muslim faith, fasting during the holy month of Ramadan is one of the fifth pilar of Islam. It is my second Ramadan in Bahrain. All restaurants, food outlets are basically closed during the day, life comes back to town after Iftar which starts around 6 p.m and this is when the Muslims break the fast. For my part, I am staying at home the whole day, which is good because I am entering the nesting mode, where all I want to do is clean up before baby comes.

Projects
I am feeling very creative these days. Since am not working I have been busy painting, sewing, twisting and turning wire for my jewellery.
Staying at home is such a new thing for me that I need to keep myself busy to prove that I have done something worthwhile...

No News....Good News
I apologize for my sporadic posting, blame it on the connection and the oh so many other things to do!
A few updates:
The house sale at my friend's place went great, I think that in the future this is the way to go. A jewellery party, like a tupperware party.
This buddy has been saving my life. I sleep with it everynight and holds it tight, it's so compfy. I recommend it to all pregnant ladies.
I have made a bird mobile for my baby, using this pattern from this site. Ok mine is not as perfect and I didn't have spare cloth, so I used felt - Pictures coming up soon.

Internet is back
These days, I have been doing my own christmas ornaments.
1. I have been trying my hands at origami christmas trees like these ones

2. Been working with my fingers with air dry clay. I would like them to look smoother though.

3. I was happy to find out that there was also a Daiso in Bahrain. Got to love their price and the lovely japanese goodies.I purchased some more origami paper and air dry clay.

4. O oO I finally received my necklace displays, they are beautiful!!

Quick - While internet's still working
Yes I arrived safely after a horrid flight and hours of waiting at Bahrain International Airport. I meant to write a whole post on these but internet has been up and down ever since I came back, the story is 'rancid' now.
The feedback from Awali Craft Fair is: Hmmmm
The 2 necklace displays I ordered from Etsy, never made it to Bahrain. So I had to use imagination to display my necklaces.

I must say that the crowd was 50% less than the American Women Association Craft Fair.
All in all it was encouraging because I sold 4 necklaces. I am very positive, this is my nature.

Done
Yesterday I have registered for my 2nd craft fair (Awali Craft Fair), which will be held at the same place - Bapco Club, Awali. I have a lot of work right now to add some new designs to the collection.
On a discovery note, I went to visit the Old Palace and Muharraq souk yesterday with some new friends. I must say that the Old Palace was very inspiring design wise. The lines and shapes and patterns present and typical of Arabian architecture proved to be very inspiring.

The Craft Fair
Well my friends and readers, it's time for some feedback on what happened at the Fall Craft Fair
In a few words:
Very busy craft fair/interesting experience for me to see the interactions sellers/buyers
Lots of stops and great feedback at my stall but no real sales - hmmm
Only sold 3 necklaces out of 25 created this month
Shoppers liked the idea that from the boxes to my business cards and price tags - all were handcrafted
Great neighbours/crafters :)
Exhausted at the end of the day
Notes to myself
Stay positive
To have a bigger stall with more collection to show next time (I can work on this now that I don't have a day job)
Bring a sweater next time - it was so cold
Start working on Etsy shop
Some pics of the fair
